I don’t get the analogies. I assume someone who prefers cleaning floors is really good at cleaning floors. I don’t think its crazy to associate writing with intelligence. Maybe that’s where you disagree. But that was kind of my point about not being aware of your own limitations.

I never said it was “crazy” to associate writing with intelligence; it’s just not smart. My analogy means that you shouldn’t make assumptions about people based on what they do or don’t do. If you allow yourself to get to know a person, all of their qualities and flaws will be revealed. Some people show themselves very quickly – others don’t.
And since when does writing prolific emails make a person so intellectual? Some people are better at BS-ing than others.
