Agreed. If you want someone to jump through some stupid hoop to “prove” how interested they are, you should at least tell them rather than expecting them to read your mind. Just don’t be surprised if they decide that you being such a pain in the ass before the first date tells them all they need to know to reject you.

Most of the posts that I’ve read here recently have to do with flexibility. The more flexible you are, the more likely you are to find a person who’s suitable to you, whether it be the active girl, the overweight girl, the balding nice guy. As far as assuming someone is less intelligent because they don’t like using email, that’s like assuming someone who cleans the floors in your place of work is beneath you because of their position. I remember a co-worker telling me her sister-in-law didn’t like to have conversations with people who didn’t have degrees. Newflash: I work at a University, and most of the people with advanced or terminal degrees couldn’t fight their way out of a paper bag. If you’re an intelligent person, you will weed out those who aren’t that intelligent. However, I wouldn’t say that judging someone by their preferred means of communication is the most intelligent litmus test.
